Mango Mousse

Ingredients: 

  • 2 medium ripe mangoes, peeled and chopped (about 1.5 cups) 
  • 1/2 cup light cream or whipping cream 
  • 1-2 tablespoons honey or sugar (optional, depending on sweetness of mangoes) 

Instructions: 

  1. Prepare Mango Puree: 
  • In a blender, blend the chopped mangoes until smooth to make mango puree. Adjust sweetness by adding honey or sugar if needed. 
  • Note: Use sweet mangoes for the best flavor. Avoid using tangy or sour-sweet mangoes when mixed with cream. 
  1. Whip Cream: 
  • In a mixing bowl, beat the cream using an electric beater or whisk until soft peaks form. Be careful not to over-whip. 
  1. Combine Mango Puree and Cream: 
  • Gently fold the mango puree into the whipped cream until well combined and fluffy. 
  1. Assemble Mango Mousse: 
  • Divide the mango mousse mixture into four to five serving glasses or bowls. 
  • Use a spatula to scrape the bowl and ensure all the mousse is transferred. 
  1. Chill and Serve: 
  • Cover the glasses with plastic wrap and refrigerate the mango mousse for at least one to two hours until set. 
  • Serve cold, garnished with your favorite toppings such as chopped mangoes, chocolate shavings, berries, mint, nuts, or whipped cream. 

Storage: 

  • Store the mango mousse in the refrigerator for up to 3 to 4 days. 
  • Keep the glasses covered with plastic wrap or transfer to a sealed container to maintain freshness.
