Mango Falooda

A Delightful Indian Beverage 

Mango Falooda is a popular Indian beverage that combines the sweet and tangy flavors of mango with a variety of textures, creating a delightful and indulgent drinking experience. Ingredients: 

  • 1 ripe mango, pureed 
  • 1 cup milk 
  • 2-3 tbsp basil seeds (sabja seeds) 
  • 2 tbsp vermicelli noodles, crushed or broken into small pieces 
  • 1 tbsp rose syrup 
  • Sugar, to taste 
  • Ice cubes 
  • Fresh mango cubes, for garnish 

Method: 

Step 1: 

Soak the basil seeds in a small bowl of water for about 15 minutes. They will swell and become gelatinous. 

Step 2: 

In a separate bowl, soak the vermicelli noodles in warm milk for a few minutes until they soften. 

Step 3: 

In a blender, combine the mango puree, rose syrup, and sugar to taste. Blend until smooth. 

Step 4: 

In a tall glass, add ice cubes, followed by the soaked basil seeds and softened vermicelli noodles. 

Step 5: 

Pour the mango blend over the ice and toppings. Stir gently to combine. 

Step 6: 

Garnish with fresh mango cubes and serve with a straw and a long spoon, allowing your guests to enjoy the various textures. 

Tips: 

  • Adjust the amount of milk and sugar to your preferred sweetness and consistency. 
  • For an extra indulgent treat, add a scoop of vanilla ice cream to the glass before pouring in the mango blend. 
  • Experiment with different types of mangoes to find your favorite variety for this drink.
