  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper for a spicy kick

How to Make Mango BBQ Sauce:

  1. Prepare the Mangoes:
  • Peel, pit, and dice the ripe mangoes, removing any fibrous strands.
  1. Make the Sauce:
  • In a blender or food processor, combine the diced mangoes, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  • If desired, add cayenne pepper for a spicy kick.
  • Blend until smooth and well combined, adjusting the seasoning to taste.
  1. Cook the Sauce:
  • Transfer the blended mixture to a saucepan and place it over medium heat.
  • Bring the sauce to a simmer, then reduce the heat to low and let it cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly and the flavors meld together.
  • Remove the sauce from the heat and let it cool to room temperature.
  1. Serve and Enjoy:
  • Use the Mango BBQ Sauce immediately as a basting sauce for grilled chicken, ribs, or vegetables.
  • Alternatively, store the sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  • Serve the sauce alongside your favorite grilled dishes as a flavorful dipping sauce or drizzle it over grilled tofu or tempeh for a delicious vegetarian option.

Note: For a smoother sauce, you can strain the blended mixture through a fine-mesh sieve before cooking to remove any remaining fibrous bits. Adjust the sweetness and tanginess of the sauce by adding more brown sugar or apple cider vinegar to suit your taste preferences.
